Wisconsin Roadtrip: A Night In Sheboygan

The final leg of our Wisconsin roadtrip had us head south from the beautiful Door County towards Sheboygan and then finally Chicago O’Hare.  Enroute from Door County we indulged in a spot of ‘dark tourism’, stopping off briefly in Manitowoc to see the County Jail & Courthouse.  This won’t mean anything to you unless you’ve watched the documentary ‘Making A Murderer’ which follows events in the area.

Wisconsin Roadtrip: Cheeseheads in Green Bay

After a whirlwind of a time in the wonder that is the Wisconsin Dells, we headed north to Green Bay. Enroute there are several places worthy of stopping.  One is the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass in Neenah (free but closed on Mondays).  The other is in the town of OshKosh.  Not a museum devoted to dungarees but the EAA AirVenture Museum, which has a collection of more than 200 historic airplanes.

The Wisconsin Dells aka The Waterpark Capital Of America!

Halfway through our Wisconsin roadtrip, we left beautiful Madison for the Wisconsin Dells, an area known as the ‘Waterpark Capital Of The World’.  We had already had a lot of fun on our trip, after four days in Chicago, 3 days in Milwaukee and 3 days in Madison.  Yet the Wisconsin Dells is something else; a playground of kitsch fun for all ages.

Family Fun In Madison, Wisconsin

Every year on our US roadtrip, we stumble upon one city we feel we could really live in.  Whether it was the sunshine or simply the amazing food and music at the farmer’s market, Madison, Wisconsin captured our hearts.  Madison, the State Capital, was the third stop on our amazing Wisconsin roadtrip.  After four days in Chicago, followed by three days in Milwaukee, we headed West (an easy 90 minutes).
