Meet The Travel Agent! Sara Greene from Travel Counsellors UK

Sara Greene-1
How long have you been working in the travel industry?

I have been working in the travel industry for over 19 years.  I have first-hand knowledge on many hotels in Europe and long-haul.

How did you get into it?

I have always had a passion for travel.  When I finished college, i was offered a job working for a Manchester based travel company called Sky Deals where I spent 4 years.  I then went to live in London and worked for a luxury tour operator called Kirker Holidays where i stayed for 10 years.  I travelled extensively throughout Europe seeing all the fabulous hotels and resorts.

What’s your speciality?

I specialise in luxury family holidays but as a Travel Counsellor I have a huge range of suppliers we can use which helps with all kinds of budgets.

Why should I use a travel agent as opposed to booking myself online?

Many of my clients have booked with me as I offer much more than booking on the internet.  I offer good advice and I am here 24/7 if my clients need me.  Travel Counsellors also offer 100% complete financial protection and we hold our very own financial trust.  The internet booking sites do not always offer complete financial protection or provide ATOL.  I always go the extra mile for all of my clients and offer a very personal service.

What were your top family holiday destinations of 2012?

Abama in Tenerife.  I have sent 20 families here over the past 12 months and they have all loved it.  Sani Beach resort is also one of my best sellers.

If you have a big family, how is it best to travel?

It all depends on the family and also budget.  Suites and interconnecting rooms are most popular with my clients.

What family friendly trends are you seeing in 2013?

Families who want Kids Clubs, in particular Baby Clubs and great facilities for children of all ages.

Do you work for particular hotel chains or can you recommend anything?

As I have been working in the Luxury market for a long time now, I have built up some fabulous contacts with many of the hotels such as the Sani Resort, The Abama, The Princesa Yaiza and the Sensatori.  I can book most hotels but some we will not use (if they have not been health and safety checked).  I have never come across any we can’t book for you or don’t have preferential rates to.

If you had an unlimited budget where would you personally travel to with your family?

I would definitely go to Italy and stay in my favourite hotels in Lake Como, Venice and the Amalfi Coast.

How do I contact you to book my holiday?
