Romantic & Family Friendly Luxury Hotels

Happy Valentine’s Day to you, dear reader!  I thought we could celebrate by drooling over my pick of three romantic yet family friendly hotels from around the world. How will you be celebrating Valentine’s Day?  I’ll be on a flight with my two-year old.  Get me a Bloody Mary pronto!

This could be me if I play my cards right!

Wonder what they’ve got packed in the picnic box

Escape life at the Cousteau Fiji Resort, the ultimate eco retreat near Savusavu in Fiji. This is the sort of place I might decide to finally take up scuba diving.

What’s in it for me?

See below – holidaying with the kids but not holidaying with the kids.  That’s how to get romance in on your trip away!

What’s in it for the kids?

Every child GETS THEIR OWN NANNY (or ‘buddy’ depending on how old they are).  You can choose to use their services from as little or as much of the day as you please.  The kids club (Bula Club) has its own set of pools, jungle gym, sandbox, activity centre and place for children’s meals.

Ecca Lodge

Now I’ve never been on safari before but I know that when I do, I want to stay somewhere like Ecca Lodge.  I want to have my out of Africa moment but in a sexy and stylish setting.

What’s in it for me?

Sipping champagne watching breathtaking sunsets.  Now that’s pretty sexy.

What’s in it for the kids?

I’ve got two young kids so the reality is that I won’t be able to take them on a proper, ‘into the wild’ safari for a long time.  Ecca lodge has a play centre for kids and also a pool, an absolute necessity for keeping them happy!

Carrie Bradshaw

Mais oui, I couldn’t add a Valentine’s hotel without including the oh so romantic city of gay Paris.  If you’re going to do it, do it in style at the Hotel Plaza Athénée located on the chic Avenue Montaigne with views of the Eiffel Tower.

What’s in it for me?

Hello – this is where Carrie Bradshaw stayed!  I think even my husband (a closet SATC fan) would fancy hanging out in the Eiffel Suite.

Eiffel Suite

What’s in it for the kids?

Well several years ago they created a special suite for little girls – the Barbie Suite!  My little ones would love that. Sadly I think it may have been a one summer only gimmick.  Still, with over 1400 sq ft in my Eiffel Suite, I’m sure I can ply them with macaroons and they can run around delighted.

Disclaimer – I’m not affiliated to any of the above mentioned hotels.  However, hoteliers if you’re reading this and would like to invite me to stay, I’ll start packing right away!
