Family Friendly London Serviced Apartment – Prince’s Square

Instead of booking a hotel room, why not look into staying at a serviced apartment instead?  You’ll get the added benefit of a separate bedroom/living area and also a kitchen.  Laura came across this hidden gem close to London’s trendy Notting Hill area and has kindly agreed to share more on her secret find…
Princes Square Apartments
Who : Laura and Lily (5 month olds at the time)
Where: Prince’s square serviced apartment, Princes Square, Bayswater – London
When: We stayed seven nights the last week of June as part of mummy’s “welcome home to the uk” London party week (well, as much as a mum of a five month old can party)
Hotel booking: Book directly with the front desk and you get exceptional highly competitive rates. I dealt with Tom and Hadi who were both fantastic.

The Apartment: One word – amazing. And I don’t use that word easily. I can not fault the place on all five in my view- critical criteria for a serviced apartment … Space, amenities, cost, service and location.
Prince's Square Serviced Apartment 2
What really got me was the space..while many one bed room “apartments” in popular London areas such as Notting Hill turn out to be more than a pokey hotel room, this apartment was really what it said it was;  a proper apartment with a huge bedroom, lovely big bathroom, massive living / dining / kitchen area and even a corridor with a cupboard ! It was lovely and bright with huge windows looking onto a pretty garden that we had private use of.
Prince's Square Bedroom
The apartment was fully kitted out with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer and all mod cons ( huge flat screen to and DVD with sky) you could want. A travel cot was provided along with a sterilizer for Lily.  There was also a lift so no hassle banging a buggy up and down the stairs with multiple shopping bags after a day at Selfridges…and even then the boys at the front desk couldn’t do enough to help me and insisted on carrying my bags for me or helping with the buggy every time I left and returned. The location was fantastic – a seven minute walk to Notting Hill tube and two minute to Bayswater tube with a plethora of funky little cafés and restaurants and bars on your doorstep.

Speaking of bars, if you wanted to sample one or two sans baby , then they are able to organize babysitting although I never used this service as just dumped lily with her uncle or godparents ! The cost was the best bit about this place – it actually works out cheaper than most two star London hotels. Go figure….
Leisure facilities – none, this is probably the only area they could improve if I was being super picky … But to be honest I just went for a run in the mornings in Hyde park which is right opposite which was far nicer than working out in a pokey gym.
Kids facilities – see above, all the basics provided and if it wasn’t there just ask and they get it for you
In conclusion – I feel like I stumbled across a hidden gem and have already booked Lily and myself in for our Christmas trip back!
