Destination Ideas With Thomas Cook Flights

When I was asked to write a post in association with Thomas Cook Flights, I genuinely had no idea they flew to so many places.  Apparently they have 31 planes, fly from 20 airports in the UK to over 60 destinations!  So I’ve picked my top 5 destinations for 2015:

Zante, Greece

The last time I went to Zante, I was 18 years old with a gaggle of girlfriends getting up to mischief.  I probably didn’t see the best of what this Ionian island has to offer although I do remember its stunning turquoise sea (and lethal cocktails).

Salzburg, Austria

If you are a fan of the Sound of Music, you must make a pilgrimage to this beautiful town.  You can take a Sound of Music tour which winds you through a number of original film locations (and obligatory singing of Do Re Mi down the steps).  If you are also a Mozart fan then it’s a double whammy for you as you can visit Mozart’s Birthplace and Residence.

Boston, USA

Why not use Boston as a starting point to head off on a New England road trip, heading up midcoast Maine to Cape Cod.

Malta, Valetta

My parents were recently here and extolled the virtues of this European island.  If the kids are bored of the medieval castles and ruins, take them to Playmobil Funpark – you can even tour the factory where they make all the toys!

I’ve long lusted after a trip to the Caribbean.  January to April are the best months to visit to visit. Whilst the beaches are the main attraction, you can also get your culture fix at a historic plantation house or museum.

Happy Travels!
