Flight Review: American Airlines LAX to Denver

Denver is a hop, skip and a two hour flight from Los Angeles.  Following our looong flight HKG-LAX, we stayed overnight at the comfortable and convenient Courtyard Marriott LAX.  After less than five hours sleep we caught the free shuttle to the American Airlines Terminal (2 mins away).  For a domestic US flight, I had been anticipating checking in 30 mins in advance.  However, hotel staff advised 2 hours. We picked 1 hour 30.

As my husband is a Marco Polo Gold member (OneWorld) we used the AA Privilege check in which also gave us access to the speedier security.

The terminal was busy and the food outlets had queues.  We had access to the Admirals Club, a huge space with some free and paid refreshments.  Best of all is the kids playroom that we had visited last year and loved.

Boarding AA3671 (depart LAX 07:35, arrives Denver 10:50)
Our AA flight was operated by American Eagle who are based in a satellite terminal accessed by a 10 min bus ride.  Allow plenty of time to get there.

Onboard
The plane was a clean Bombardier CRJ700 with a 2-2 configuration.  A stern air stewardess informed us our 21 mth old shouldn’t have had her own seat.  However, American Airlines had no issue in selling us the seat in the first place!

The flight was a comfortable two hours.  There are no seatback TVs so bring your own entertainment.  My daughter played with stickers and magnets whilst my youngest was glued to the Wiggles on the iPad.

Drinks were served but no food so again, bring your own!

On arrival, take some pics of Denver Airport, shaped to look like the Rocky Mountains.
