App review: Wee Kids Stickers and Puzzles

Our family has finally joined the rest of the world in purchasing an iPad.  We are about to embark on our annual US roadtrip and my husband felt that an iPad was key to keeping the kids quiet on long journeys.  So now it’s time for me to get app happy!  Fortuitous timing for the kind people at Ebooks & kids who sent me a few apps to review.

Italian company, Ebooks & kids have apps available for both Apple and Android devices.

I tested them out on my 4 year old and 20 month old and needless to say, they were both enthralled.

Wee Kids Stickers (GBP 1.49)

Wee Kids Stickers 2

This game is perfect for younger kids, enhancing their shape recognition skills.  You choose from a number of different scenes from around the world (e.g. a gondola in Venice) and drag and drop the shapes into the matching spaces.

Wee Kids Puzzles (GBP 1.49)

I would recommend the puzzles app for older kids (my 4 year old managed to do the 9 piece puzzles but the bigger ones were too hard).   It is basically a digital version of those cool little puzzles you would get as a child where you slide around the tiles.  I think I’ll actually enjoy playing this on a plane!

Our boys love these apps too! And the iPad is a saviour on long journeys definitely. I can highly recommend buying a cushiony cover for it so little ones can easily prop it up on their laps. Ours is shaped like a little beanbag and takes the stress out of handling it 🙂

      Thanks Brooke
Any other apps you recommend for young kids?

Another idea is to download a new movie onto the IPad for the kids to watch.
