Kids Waterproof Bag Review – The Trunki PaddlePak

Whilst I’ve gone off the Trunki itself (daughter fell off one resulting in a nasty cut to the back of the head), that doesn’t mean I’m now boycotting all Trunki products.

In fact, I really like the PaddlePak.  It’s a lightweight, waterproof backpack meaning it’s perfect to take away on holiday for use at the beach or even to carry on the plane.  Ours has also become our go-to bag for weekly swimming lessons.

They come in a variety of fun designs from Octopus to Clown Fish.  We got a ‘Pinch The Lobster’ one to review which my kids were delighted with.

On the plus side…

  • Lightweight and easy for little kids to carry
  • Plenty of room to stuff in a towel, swimsuit etc
  • High visibility adjustable straps
  • Waterproof – ideal for when your 4 year old decides to bring the entire contents of the beach home with her.

On the minus side…

  • I think they’ve changed the buckles from the original PaddlePak to make them less ‘snappy’ so kids can’t catch their fingers in them.  I do support that initiative but it did mean that the buckle popped open every now and again.
  • It’s not cheap.  But let’s face it, nothing in the world of kids gear is and at least these PaddlePaks look fun and kids love ’em!

In Hong Kong, the Paddlepak sells from HKD 249 – 279 and you can buy it in Bumps to Babes, Dymocks, Ourbaby, Little Whale, Baby Online and other leading retailers.  Elsewhere you’ll find it on Amazon and the Trunki website directly.

Jetlag & Mayhem was sent a Trunki PaddlePak for review.  This is all my opinion and I was not paid for this review!
