Review of the Skip Hop Travel Blanket

What is it?

You know the brand Skip Hop, the ones that make those animal backpacks and suitcases that every kid has.  Well they have lots of other products up their sleeve, including travel blankets.  We were given one to test out, a ‘Monkey’ from the Zoo range (they also have Ladybug and Owl available).

Skip Hop Travel Blanket

It’s essentially a big monkey face with a handle at the top that the kids can carry.  Unzip it to reveal a gorgeous plush blanket, super snuggly and more importantly, machine washable and BPA free.  We packed it to take with us on our most recent road trip and found it very useful on the plane and in the car.

My daughter also loved the fact that it matched her Skip Hop Zoo suitcase perfectly (I can tell she’s headed down the twinset and pearls route).

Would I buy it?

This really isn’t a travel essential.  And at HKD$ 219 (USD$ 28) it isn’t cheap.  It also takes up quite a lot of room in a bag so unless your child is happy to carry it, you might not be left with a lot of space for your own stuff!  So whilst I wouldn’t rush out to buy one for my own little ones, it would make a super present for a globetrotting kid.

In Hong Kong the blanket is available to buy at Mothercare, Bumps to Babes, Dymocks, Ourbaby, Rainbow Care, Mini-me, Baby Online, Little Whale, Toysland and all leading retailers. Overseas you can get it on your usual online retailers and also through the Skip Hop website.

I was sent a Skip Hop Zoo Travel Blanket to test out.  I was not paid for this review and this is all my own opinion!
