Wireless Kids Headphones Review: LilGadgets Untangled Pro

For all those parents who allow their kids to sit playing noisy games on their tablet/phone on a plane. I beg of you one thing… please buy them some headphones! There are so many child friendly options on the market. Many have the added safety feature of a volume limiter.  Case in point, the LilGadgets Untangled Pro, a Bluetooth headphone that we recently tested out on a trip to Phuket.  We are a fan of the LilGadgets brand here at Jetlag & Mayhem, in my mind the most sturdy pair out on the market. Check out an earlier review of the Connect+ here.  The Untangled Pro is their wireless option, which adds an interesting dimension for kids. They can roam around a bit more (up to 30 feet) and there’s no worry about getting tangled up. LilGadgets also limits volume at a safe 93db.

How do they work?

Simply charge up the LilGadgets Untangled Pro and that gives you 12 hours of listening and 180 hours of standby.

The Bluetooth function is easy to pare with all your Bluetooth-enabled devices. If you don’t want to go down the wireless road, you can get old school (which we needed when using my old ipod!) and use the nylon audio cable which is also included.

Another clever addition is the Shareport which means multiple users can attach their headphones together.  This comes in useful if sharing an iPad etc.

What do they look like?

Pretty cool I’d say (but what do I know) with 5 colours available.  We have pink, obvs..

On one side you’ll find the buttons and ports. The power button serves as the on/off, paring mode, and phone answer/end. The volume button controls the volume up/down, and also doubles as the previous/next track and play/pause. On the other side is the hole (not the technical term!) for the SharePort.

They also come with a handy microfibre travel pouch to pack away the headphones and wires. The bag itself can also be used for cleaning dirty screens.

What do they feel like?

They are really comfortable without compromising the sturdiness.  The ears feel nicely padded.  Size-wise the product is recommended for kids age 4+

Final thoughts

Yes they are pricey but the LilGadgets Untangled Pro are comfortable and appear durable.  My daughter loves them for dancing games on the computer (well actually I love them so I don’t have to hear the endless drone of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande). If you want a cheaper option, check out the LilGadgets Connect+ which don’t have the Bluetooth function.

Where can I buy them?

For Asia customers, check out Wonder Toys who can ship to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia ($8 shipping for HK).

The LilGadgets Untangled Pro are SGD 99 (approx HKD 530 / USD 68).

A huge thank you to Wonder Toys for providing us the LilGadgets for review. This is all my own opinion and I was not paid for this review
